First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at 729 breast cancer patients who had radiation after surgery to see how many developed an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism). Researchers checked thyroid function before and after radiation to find risk factors and understand the link between radiation dose and thyroid damage. The goal is to better predict and possibly prevent this side effect in the future.
