Mind over needles: can hypnosis ease painful medical tests?
NCT ID NCT04372537
Summary
This study tested whether medical hypnosis could help patients feel less pain and anxiety during a common nerve and muscle function test called an ENMG. Researchers compared patients who received hypnosis during the test to those who received standard care. The goal was to see if this mind-focused technique could make an uncomfortable but necessary procedure easier to tolerate.
