First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This early study looked at whether repeated hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber) is safe for people with multiple myeloma who are about to receive high-dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. 29 adults with myeloma took part. The main goal was to check for serious side effects within 24 hours of treatment and up to 100 days after transplant.
