New gel could mop up leftover kidney stone fragments

NCT ID NCT06469736

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study compares standard kidney stone surgery (using a scope and laser) to the same surgery plus a special hydrogel that captures tiny stone fragments. The goal is to see if the gel helps remove more stone pieces, which could lower the chance of stones coming back. About 120 adults with kidney stones larger than 10mm will take part.
