Molar pregnancy mystery: to treat or not to treat lung nodules?

NCT ID NCT03785574

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at the best way to manage women who have a molar pregnancy (a rare abnormal pregnancy) and also have a lung nodule found on a CT scan. Researchers want to see if starting chemotherapy right away is better than waiting to see if the nodule goes away on its own. About 30 participants will be randomly assigned to either immediate treatment or close monitoring to track outcomes like how many chemotherapy cycles are needed and whether the nodule shrinks without treatment.
