New study aims to make back pain injections safer and more satisfying

NCT ID NCT07612982

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests two ways to guide a steroid injection for people with lumbar spinal stenosis, a condition that causes back and leg pain when walking or standing. One method uses X-ray (fluoroscopy) alone, the other adds ultrasound before the X-ray (hybrid). The goal is to see which approach gives better patient satisfaction, less radiation, and shorter procedure time. About 44 adults aged 40 to 75 who have not improved with other treatments will take part.
