New hybrid heart procedure could offer better rhythm control for heart failure patients

Summary
This study tests if a two-step hybrid ablation procedure works better than standard catheter ablation for people with persistent atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) and heart failure. About 120 adults with enlarged hearts and reduced pumping function will be randomly assigned to one of the two procedures. The goal is to see which approach better prevents long-term heart rhythm problems and improves heart function.
