First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested whether a hyaluronic acid gel or a chlorhexidine mouthwash works better as a follow-up treatment after deep cleaning for gum disease. Forty adults with periodontitis used one of the two products at home for 15 days. Researchers measured gum pocket depth, bleeding, and plaque over six months to see which product helped gums heal more.
