New shot could ease knee replacement pain for days

Summary
This study tested a new painkiller called HTX-011 in 285 people having knee replacement surgery. The drug was injected into the knee during surgery to see if it could reduce pain and the need for opioid pain pills for up to 3 days after the operation. The goal was to find a better way to manage pain after this common surgery.
