HPV vaccine trial aims to protect women with HIV from cervical cancer

NCT ID NCT06281119

First seen Jun 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests Cervavac, an HPV vaccine, in women aged 15-25 who are living with HIV. HPV infection can lead to cervical cancer, and women with HIV are at higher risk. The trial compares two-dose and three-dose schedules of Cervavac against a standard vaccine to see how well they work and if they are safe.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Cervavac (quadrivalent HPV vaccine)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that Cervavac is safe and effective for women with HIV, helping prevent cervical cancer in a high-risk group.

What could go wrong

This is a Phase 3b study, so results are not yet confirmed. The vaccine may not work as well in women with HIV, and side effects are possible.
