Blood test could spare throat cancer patients from harsh treatments
NCT ID NCT06445114
Summary
This study is testing a personalized approach to treatment for people with HPV-linked throat cancer who have had surgery. The goal is to see if a simple blood test can help doctors decide who needs less intense follow-up therapy, aiming to control the cancer while reducing side effects like trouble swallowing and dry mouth. About 50 patients will receive a tailored course of chemotherapy and radiation based on their blood test results and other cancer details.
