First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested whether artesunate vaginal inserts, a medicine used for malaria, can help clear HPV after standard cervical precancer treatment in women living with HIV. 120 women in Kenya used the inserts or a placebo for 5 days on, 1 week off, over 3 cycles. The goal was to see if the drug improves HPV clearance at 6 months and is safe and easy to use.
