First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This study looks at a new way to quickly figure out why someone is struggling to breathe in the emergency room. By measuring the difference between two types of carbon dioxide levels, doctors hope to tell if the cause is fluid buildup in the lungs (congestive) or something else. The study involves 45 adults with sudden shortness of breath, using a skin sensor and a blood test.
