Could less sugar in cigarettes make them less addictive?
NCT ID NCT05308316
Summary
This study aimed to understand if the amount of sugar in cigarette tobacco affects how satisfying and addictive the cigarettes are. Thirty adult smokers attended clinic visits to smoke cigarettes with different sugar levels and filled out questionnaires about their experience. The researchers hypothesized that cigarettes with the lowest sugar content would be less appealing and have lower abuse potential.
