Sleep deprivation hits women differently depending on their cycle phase
NCT ID NCT05381532
Summary
This research aims to understand how healthy women's bodies and minds respond to sleep loss at different points in their menstrual cycle. The study will enroll 100 premenopausal women who will stay in a lab for about 1.5 weeks while researchers monitor their sleep patterns, hormone levels, alertness, and body temperature. By comparing responses during different menstrual phases, scientists hope to learn how hormonal changes affect women's resilience to sleep deprivation.
