First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study explores how sex hormones like estrogen and testosterone change kidney function in people starting gender-affirming hormone therapy. Researchers will measure kidney function, perform MRI scans, and collect urine and fat tissue samples from 60 adults before and after one year of treatment. The goal is to understand why men and women have different rates of kidney disease progression.
