Can a common pill rewire your Brain's response to stress?

NCT ID NCT06263452

Summary

This study aims to understand how psychological stress increases inflammation in the body, which is a known risk factor for heart disease. Researchers will give 120 healthy young adults either a common beta-blocker drug (propranolol) or a placebo, then measure their brain activity and inflammatory markers before and after a stressful task. The goal is to map the biological pathways linking stress to heart disease risk, which could reveal new targets for future treatments.
