Herbal drink may shield cancer patients from radiation mouth pain

Summary
This study tests whether adding Houyanqing Oral Liquid to standard care can prevent severe mouth sores caused by radiation therapy in people with nasopharyngeal cancer. About 244 adults aged 18–75 who need radiation will be randomly assigned to receive either the herbal liquid plus usual care or usual care alone. The main goal is to see if fewer patients in the herbal group develop grade 2 or worse mouth sores, which could improve their quality of life during treatment.
