Sweat science: athletes tested in scorching heat

NCT ID NCT07307391

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at how semi-professional athletes' bodies handle heat while walking or jogging in hot, dry versus hot, humid conditions. Six athletes exercised in a climate-controlled room set to 40°C or 31°C with different humidity levels. Researchers measured heart rate, oxygen use, body temperature, and sweat rate to understand how the body cools itself during exercise in the heat.
