First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 20, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at whether placing a hot water bag on the abdomen can reduce pain and help the bowels start moving again in people with ileus (a blockage in the gut). Sixty adults with ileus took part. The researchers measured pain levels using a 0-10 scale and checked bowel activity. The goal was to see if this simple, non-drug treatment could offer relief.
