Wireless sensors track hospital Patients' blood sugar like a vital sign
NCT ID NCT03068273
Summary
This study tested if using a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) during a hospital stay helps keep blood sugar in a safer range for patients with diabetes. A CGM is a small sensor that tracks glucose levels in real time, like a heart rate monitor. A specialized nurse used the CGM data to help manage care for 157 patients, aiming to prevent dangerously high or low blood sugar.
