First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study compares giving acute hospital care at home versus usual hospital care for 200 people with moderate to severe dementia who live with or near a family caregiver. Participants are pre-enrolled and only randomized when they need acute care. The main goal is to see if home care increases the number of days they spend at home within 30 days after an acute episode. Researchers will also track complications like delirium and readmissions.
