NCT ID NCT07506421
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether 'Hope Groups'—a 10-session support program for parents and caregivers—can reduce violence against children and improve mental health among Palestinian families displaced by war. About 490 caregivers living in refugee camps will take part. The program combines psychosocial support, parenting tips, and violence prevention in small groups.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Hope Groups (10-session psychosocial and parenting support group)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a low-cost, community-based program to reduce violence against children and improve caregiver mental health in war-affected areas.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage pilot study (490 participants) in specific refugee camps, so results may not apply broadly. The program relies on group participation and literacy, which could limit its effectiveness for some caregivers.
