New hookworm vaccine shows promise in early human trial

This study tested a new vaccine to prevent hookworm infection in 39 healthy adults who had never had hookworms before. Participants received different versions of the vaccine and were then exposed to hookworms in a controlled setting to see if the vaccine could prevent infection. The goal was to check safety and how well the vaccine triggers the immune system to fight off the parasite.
