Could treating depression at home be just as effective as the hospital?

NCT ID NCT07490379

First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether a gentle brain stimulation treatment for depression works just as well when done at home as it does in the hospital. Sixty-six adults with moderate to severe depression will receive 20 sessions of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), either at home with nurse support or in the hospital. The goal is to see if home treatment can reduce symptoms and make care more accessible.
