First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested whether a safe, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS could be used at home to help prevent suicidal thoughts in adults recently discharged from the hospital for mood disorders. 33 participants were enrolled and asked to complete 10 sessions over two weeks. The main goal was to see if people could use the device at home as instructed, and researchers also tracked changes in suicidal thinking.
