Brain zapper at home may soothe arthritis pain without extra drugs

NCT ID NCT07162311

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests if a safe, non-invasive brain stimulation device used at home can reduce chronic pain in people with rheumatoid arthritis whose inflammation is already well-controlled. Many patients still suffer from pain even when their arthritis drugs work, and this approach aims to retrain how the brain processes pain. The trial will compare real stimulation to a sham (fake) device in 34 adults aged 18-70.
