New home oxygen treatment aims to keep COPD patients out of hospital
NCT ID NCT05196698
Summary
This study is testing whether a stronger form of home oxygen therapy can help people with severe COPD stay healthier and avoid future hospital visits. It will compare high-flow oxygen to standard oxygen therapy in 406 patients who were recently hospitalized for a COPD flare-up. The main goal is to see if the new treatment delays the next severe flare-up or death, and if it improves patients' quality of life.
