Could simple IV fluids at home keep bladder cancer patients out of the hospital?

NCT ID NCT07225205

Summary

This study is testing whether giving patients IV fluids at home after major bladder cancer surgery helps them recover better and avoid being readmitted to the hospital. About 130 patients at Johns Hopkins will be randomly assigned to either receive the home IV fluid program along with standard recovery instructions, or just the standard instructions alone. Researchers will compare how many patients in each group end up back in the hospital or emergency room within 90 days after their surgery.
