NCT ID NCT07297381
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether combining mild electrical muscle stimulation with watching videos of daily movements can improve upper limb strength and body awareness in healthy adults aged 65-85. Over four weeks, 39 participants will use these techniques at home. The goal is to find a low-cost, easy way to counter age-related muscle decline.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
neuromuscular electrical stimulation and action observation
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, home-based way to help older adults maintain muscle strength and coordination without traditional exercise.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 39 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The intervention is self-administered at home, which could affect consistency and outcomes.
