Lupus blood test mystery: research aims to clear transplant hurdles

NCT ID NCT06921239

Summary

This study aims to understand why people with lupus often show false-positive results on certain antibody tests that check for organ transplant compatibility. Researchers will examine blood samples from 30 adult lupus patients who have never been pregnant, had transfusions, or received transplants. The goal is to measure how common these false positives are and test lab methods that might correct them, potentially helping lupus patients who need transplants in the future.
