Scientists pause HIV meds to watch virus rebound

NCT ID NCT04359186

Summary

This study temporarily stops HIV medication in 40 volunteers to observe how the virus behaves in the earliest stages after treatment interruption. Participants will have frequent blood tests and will restart their medication within about three weeks, even if the virus hasn't returned yet. The goal is to learn what happens when treatment pauses and identify early signs that the virus is coming back.
