Can texting and therapy beat stigma to control HIV?

NCT ID NCT05934305

Summary

This study is testing a virtual counseling program called MATTER. It aims to help people living with HIV and substance use disorders stay on their HIV medication and achieve an undetectable viral load. The program uses five video sessions and text messages to address feelings of stigma and shame, which are common barriers to care. Researchers will compare the program's effectiveness to standard support in 256 participants from Boston and Miami.
