Can a text or video nudge boost HIV retesting? pilot study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT06785103

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This pilot study tested several low-cost behavioral nudges—like text messages and videos—to encourage HIV retesting among adults at higher risk of infection in rural Kenya and Uganda. The goal was to see which approaches were acceptable and feasible, and to refine them for a future larger trial. The study enrolled 98 participants and was terminated early, but the findings will help design better HIV prevention programs.
