Scientists test 'Kick and Kill' combo in quest for HIV remission

NCT ID NCT04357821

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a multi-part treatment strategy to see if people with HIV can safely stop their daily antiviral pills and keep the virus under control. Eleven participants on stable medication will receive a series of vaccine shots, two lab-made antibodies, and an immune stimulant, then carefully stop their regular pills to see if the new treatment can suppress the virus. The goal is to achieve a 'remission' where the virus stays at very low levels without daily medication.
