New combo therapy aims for HIV remission – no daily meds needed?
NCT ID NCT04357821
First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests whether a mix of a DNA vaccine, a booster vaccine, an immune stimulant, and special antibodies can help people with HIV control the virus after stopping their daily antiretroviral therapy. About 11 participants will receive the combination and then pause their regular HIV meds to see if the virus stays low. The goal is to achieve a long-term remission, not a cure, as the virus may still be present.
