Warrior women fight stigma to stop HIV
NCT ID NCT04114955
Summary
This study tested a program called 'Guerreiras' (Warrior Women) designed to help transgender women in São Paulo, Brazil, prevent HIV. The program used peer-led group sessions and one-on-one navigation to reduce stigma and encourage more HIV testing and use of prevention pills (PrEP). Researchers compared 392 women who received the program immediately to those on a waitlist to see if it helped them start and stay on prevention methods.
