New counseling strategy aims to protect vulnerable women from HIV
NCT ID NCT06835751
Summary
This study is testing two different counseling programs to help women who use drugs in Tanzania start and continue taking a daily pill that prevents HIV infection. Researchers will enroll 200 women and randomly assign them to receive either basic counseling about the prevention pill, more intensive counseling that also addresses mental health, or standard information and referrals. The goal is to find the best way to support these high-risk women in protecting themselves from HIV.
