New program aims to stop HIV in mothers and babies
NCT ID NCT05322629
Summary
This study is testing a new support program to help pregnant and breastfeeding women in South Africa consistently take a daily pill that prevents HIV. The program offers easier access to the medication and extra counseling, especially for women who struggle to take it regularly. The goal is to prevent mothers from getting HIV during and after pregnancy, which also protects their babies and partners from infection.
