Scientists probe hidden link between HIV, inflammation, and Aging-Related diseases

NCT ID NCT07367867

Summary

This study aimed to understand why people living with HIV are at higher risk for other health problems like heart disease and diabetes, even when their virus is controlled by medication. Researchers followed 320 Chilean patients, with and without metabolic syndrome, to collect detailed health data and biological samples. The goal was to map the connections between chronic inflammation, the immune system, and long-term health outcomes to improve future care.
