One test, four diseases: new screening tool aims to protect mothers and babies in congo

NCT ID NCT07388979

Summary

This study will test a new, single rapid test device that can screen for four serious infections (HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and syphilis) at a prenatal clinic visit. It will involve 7,500 pregnant women in the Democratic Republic of Congo to see how well the new test works compared to standard lab tests. The goal is to find a faster, simpler way to identify these infections early in pregnancy to help prevent passing them to newborns.
