First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether a patient's own blood stem cells, modified to resist HIV, can be safely infused after a mild chemotherapy-like conditioning. The goal is to see if the modified cells can take hold and help control the virus without lifelong daily medication. The trial involves 12 HIV-positive adults with well-controlled virus and no other major health issues.
