Global hunt for HIV's drug resistance secrets
NCT ID NCT06285110
Summary
This study aims to understand why some HIV treatments fail by examining the virus in people whose medication is no longer working effectively. Researchers collected blood samples from over 1,100 people across 15-20 countries who were taking a common HIV drug (dolutegravir) but still had detectable virus levels. By analyzing the virus's genetic code, they hope to identify specific mutations that cause drug resistance, which could help improve future treatment strategies.
