Can a simple app stop HIV spread? south african trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07199634
Summary
This study is testing a smartphone app that teaches people with HIV a key fact: if their treatment makes the virus undetectable, they cannot pass it to sexual partners. Researchers want to see if learning this through videos and stories helps people in South Africa stick with their medication and keep the virus under control. The trial will involve 880 adults at clinics, comparing those who use the app during counseling to those who receive standard care.
