What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

behavioral intervention (group support sessions)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could provide a low-cost, scalable way to help young people with HIV stay on their medication and achieve better health outcomes.

What could go wrong

This is a small pilot study with only 72 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The intervention is behavioral, so its impact on adherence may be limited without addressing other barriers.
