Can doctors hit the right muscle blind? new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT07079033

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study checks how often doctors can accurately needle specific hip muscles using only touch and landmarks, without ultrasound guidance. Forty adults with hip pain will receive dry needling, and a second doctor will use ultrasound to see if the needle hit the right spot. The goal is to improve training and make these procedures more reliable.
