New hip surgery technique may prevent groin nerve injuries
NCT ID NCT07322705
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study compares two ways of pulling on the leg during hip arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) for people with hip impingement. The standard method uses a post in the groin area, which can cause nerve injuries. The new method avoids that post. Researchers will check if the new method leads to fewer complications like numbness, pain, or sexual problems. About 270 participants will be followed for 3 months after surgery.
