New scan could help surgeons remove all prostate cancer in one go

NCT ID NCT06298838

First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new, high-resolution PET-CT scan done during prostate cancer surgery. The goal is to see if it can accurately find any cancer left behind or spread to nearby lymph nodes, helping surgeons remove it all. Ten men with high-risk prostate cancer will get the scan right after a special dye injection, and the results will be checked against standard lab tests.
