Protein drink study: quick recovery or just hype?
NCT ID NCT07497113
First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tested whether a store-bought high-protein yogurt drink helps muscles recover after intense exercise. Healthy adults aged 18 to 45 drank either the protein drink, a pure protein drink, or a flavored water placebo. Researchers measured amino acid levels in the blood and markers of muscle damage, soreness, and strength over several days. The goal was to see if the protein drink improves recovery compared to plain water.
