Summary
This small, early-stage study is testing whether high doses of inhaled nitric oxide gas can help critically ill adults with pneumonia who are on breathing machines. Researchers will compare the gas treatment to a placebo to see if it helps patients recover and will closely monitor for safety. The main goal is to gather initial data on how the body handles the treatment and whether it shows promise for fighting the infection.
